Stirling Engines and Solar Power

Here's a little Sterling Solar Engine

Here's the Corporate/Government Version

Consider the part at 1:45 that starts "Edison has agreed to buy...". Obviously the end customer is now buying from a retailer, rather than a wholesaler.

It's nice that they can use solar to generate grid power, but relying on corporations to provide our basic needs is a form of slavery. I hope one day we can all become independent, and support independence. I hope someday we'll take our government back and encouraging businesses that help each person gain the ability to generate his own power with his own equipment.

Sicko - A Few Good Clips

I don't recommend the movie, but here are three of the five scenes from Sicko that I would recommend. (I've also thrown in a couple of extras with Tony Benn and a funny clip featuring Ronald Ray-Gun.)

1) How it all Began

2) Tony Benn - This Guy's Brilliant

3) This lady wasn't too happy with her job. (Plus a recap of the Nixon thing at the end, sorry...)

More Tony Benn

I'll wrap it up with a laugh (to keep from crying)...

JK Rowling: The Importance of Imagination

Here's a truly meaningful speech. It's what I would already have said to you if only I were as smart as JK Rowling. It was originally titled "The Fringe Benefits of Failure", but I've renamed it for what I consider the more important part of the speech.

Thanks, Shaaria!
