If by Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Vicious Attack by Police on American Citizens.

This guy goes to serve his country in Iraq and comes home without a scratch - what does he get for his efforts to protect "freedom"? Shot in the head with a teargas canister. The others go to help him and what do they get? Take a look.

Scott Olsen 'cannot talk' after injury at Occupy Oakland protest - The Iraq war veteran is believed to have sustained damage to speech center of his brain in injury at Occupy protest on Tuesday.

Here's the view from above.

Here's a journalistic-style report.

This is not the America they told me it was when I was growing up.

Capoeira

Capoeira (Portuguese pronunciation: [kapuˈejɾɐ]) is a Brazilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, sports, and music. It was created in Brazil mainly by descendants of African slaves with Brazilian native influences, probably beginning in the 16th century. It is known by quick and complex moves, using mainly power kicks and quick leg sweeps, with some ground and aerial acrobatics, knee strikes, take-downs, elbow strikes, punches and headbutts. ~WikiPedia

Here's the first one I found:

They stay a little farther apart in this one. I like i best for the song.

Arabic - Flamenco - Jazz | Anour Brahem

I'm fallin' in love with this music.

The astounding eyes of Rita - Anouar Brahem -خط عربي

Here's a subject that's heavily on my mind lately - but what UTF-8 encoding is it!?!?!?

Sufi music - Tree of patience

I kinda like it. Sufi music - Tree of patience Omar Faruk Tekbilek - Whirling Dervish!

Eisenhower's Farewell Address - The Insolvent Phantom of Today

This starts weird, but picks up where the previous clip left off. (In fact, this is the important part, so don't skip it thinking it's a duplicate - it's not.)

Nice unplugged version of this song.

Not quite as nice, but at least this one's still there. Damn greed.

Tarnation - Burn Again

Thanks, McNuto

I lost a bit more
Won a little mess
Said good-bye to low
and hello to less
I jacked up the car
And shot at my guest
I rolled it twice
and hoped for the best

On this tree I'll hang my skin
and my skeleton without a shadow
will glow by the fire
On this tree I'll hang my skin
and my skeleton without a shadow
will glow by the fire

The angel hangs over
the bedstand
with a wide wingspan
he's a guest or a ghost
of a tall fireman
I guess I lit the curtains again

On this tree I'll hang my skin
and my skeleton without a shadow
will glow by the fire
On this tree I'll hang my skin
and my skeleton without a shadow
will glow by the fire

I'm tearing the morning
right out of the dawn
the night is broken
the day is gone
the sky hits me
it's falling fast
my guard is sleeping on
broken glass

On this tree I'll hang my skin
and my skeleton without a shadow
will glow by the fire
On this tree I'll hang my skin
and my skeleton without a shadow
will glow by the fire
glow by the fire
glow by the fire.

Who said life was easy?

Jane Said:
Cutting out all the bad stuff out of your diet is simple but not easy. Getting well is simple but not easy. Living is simple but not easy. Who said life was easy?
